Avchitgad fort near Roha- Complete guide

About Avchitgad fort:

The sight of Avchitgad in South Konkan, on the banks of the river Kundalika, surrounded by a thick forest on the hills, is magnificent. The settlement of Pingalsai, located 5 km above Rohya, is where the fort’s height begins to rise to 300 m. Because of the many trees, the path to the fort is pleasant. The fort, which was surrounded on all sides by ramparts and bastions, was crucial for defending the Kundalika river.

The eastern entrance under the tower is where the path from Medha village enters the fort. On this walkway, there is a war sculpture called Veergal. Near the east-facing entryway, a stone has a carving of Sharbha on it. The fort’s south tower has a gate, but it is in poor shape. There is a 1796 AD inscription on the stone. On the fort, there is a lake. Nearby this lake is a shrine dedicated to Lord Mahadev. On the lower west side of this lake, there is a group of seven tanks.
